Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is my great honour and
pleasure to invite you to
the 2019 Congress of the
Asia-Pacific Academy of
Ophthalmology in Bangkok,
co-hosted by the Royal
College of Ophthalmologists
of Thailand.
As the region’s
preeminent meeting for
ophthalmologists and
visual scientists, APAO
2019 will feature more
than 600 internationally
renowned speakers
presenting the latest
discoveries and ideas in
all the major ophthalmic
subspecialties. An
attendance figure of at
least 5,000 delegates is
anticipated.
The APAO Congress also
provides delegates with
an excellent occasion to
network and collaborate
with peers and friends.
Furthermore, Congress
attendees can enjoy
magnificent and historic
palaces and temples,
along with delicious
cuisine and exciting
nightlife, in Bangkok,
one of Asia’s most-loved
cities.

Introducing the Co-Sponsor of APAO 2019

This year, Congress
organizers are pleased to
welcome the European
Society of Ophthalmology (SOE)
as co-sponsor of the 34th Asia-Pacific
Academy of Ophthalmology
(APAO) Congress in Bangkok,
Thailand held in conjunction
with the 43rd Annual Meeting
of the Royal College of
Ophthalmologists of
Thailand.
Led by Dr. Jan Tjeerd de
Faber of the Netherlands,
SOE includes 44 national
ophthalmic societies from
around the European
continent. Established in
1956, the society now
organizes the biennial SOE
Congress in addition to
providing grants and other
educational programs such as
those for leadership
development and young
ophthalmologists.

Delegates

wish

compete
for

prizes

encouraged

read
the
abstract
submission
guidelines
beforehand.
The
deadline
to
submit
abstracts
for
APAO
2019
is
Monday,
September
3,
2018,
at
11:59
pm
(GMT
+8).
Late
submissions
will
not
be
accepted.
Abstract submission as well as registration for the 34th APAO Congress are facilitated via the APAO Congress system at
http://congress.apaophth.org/. Early bird registration rates for APAO 2019 will remain in effect through Monday, October 15, 2018.
